Prof. Xu Kecheng, born August 1940, is a Chief Physician, Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor. He is the Founder and President of Fuda Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, a renowned expert in gastroenterology and oncology, and Chief Expert of the National Clinical Key Specialty (Oncology).
He graduated from Nantong Medical College in 1963, where he taught and practiced medicine for nearly 30 years. He subsequently pursued hepatology training at Chiba University in Japan and Johns Hopkins University in the United States.
In 2001, at age 61, he founded Fuda Cancer Hospital, innovatively combining Cryo-Surgical Ablation (CSA), Microvascular Intervention (CMI), and Combined Immunotherapy (CIC) into the “3C Treatment Model,” treating over 10,000 cancer patients from more than 70 countries.
Diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma in 2006, he continued working on the clinical frontline after surgery.
He has authored nine monographs, including the world’s first English book on cancer cryosurgery, Modern Cryosurgery for Cancer, and published more than 500 papers, with over 100 SCI-indexed publications.
He is a recipient of the Bethune Medal and the “Model of the Times” honor and has been recognized by the WHO Forum as a “World Cryosurgery Distinguished Contributor.”
